What is the top-spec MacBook Pro PROLED XDR price?
The most expensive standard configuration is the 16-inch M5 Max with the 40-core GPU, 48GB of memory and 2TB of storage, at ₹6,69,900. Fully loaded, the 16-inch reaches ₹18,17,700 and the 14-inch ₹17,69,700. Here is how the price moves:
- With nano-texture glass: The nano-texture display is a ₹18,000 add-on, so about ₹6,87,900 if it applies to the 16-inch.
- With an eligible card: Apple advertises up to ₹15,000 instant cashback with eligible cards, which could bring the base top-spec price near ₹6,54,900.
- With maximum memory and storage: Memory goes up to 128GB on the M5 Max with the 18-core CPU and 40-core GPU, and storage up to 16TB. Going to 128GB adds about ₹2,40,000 and 16TB about ₹8,40,000. With nano-texture glass and pre-installed Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro, a maxed-out 16-inch costs ₹18,17,700.
How much cheaper is education pricing?
Students and educators pay ₹18,000 to ₹37,000 less on the four starting models. The education prices are ₹3,31,900 for the 14-inch M5 Pro and ₹3,85,900 for the 16-inch M5 Pro, with the M5 Max versions at ₹5,12,900 and ₹5,52,900. I found no education prices for the higher configurations. Education pricing can't be combined with the card cashback or No Cost EMI.
| Starting Model | Standard Price (₹) | Education Price (₹) | You Save |
|---|---|---|---|
| 14-inch M5 Pro | 3,49,900 | 3,31,900 | ₹18,000 |
| 16-inch M5 Pro | 4,09,900 | 3,85,900 | ₹24,000 |
| 14-inch M5 Max | 5,49,900 | 5,12,900 | ₹37,000 |
| 16-inch M5 Max | 5,89,900 | 5,52,900 | ₹37,000 |

Apple India lists availability from 9 November 2026, and pre-orders are open now. Globally, pre-orders began on 28 October, with retail sales starting 6 November in an initial 30 countries and regions.
Which offers apply?
Apple India advertises No Cost EMI and instant cashback, both with eligible cards.
- Cashback: Up to ₹15,000, only on American Express, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank cards, with a ₹10,001 minimum. It covers up to two orders per rolling 90 days.
- No Cost EMI: For this MacBook Pro it's limited to 3- and 6-month tenures, running 11 October to 11 November 2026.

What are the key specs behind the price?
Apple's product page lists a tandem OLED PROLED XDR display with up to 2,000 nits' peak brightness, a 1,00,00,000:1 contrast ratio, P3 and Adobe RGB colour, Touch and a Dynamic Island. It runs on the M5 Pro or M5 Max chip and has three Thunderbolt 5 ports, HDMI and Wi-Fi 7. Apple quotes up to 24 hours of battery life and a 14-inch weight of 1.38 kg.
Apple's feature highlights sum up what the premium pays for: the PROLED XDR display with 2,000 nits' peak HDR brightness, up to 12x faster AI performance than the M1 Max from Neural Accelerators in the GPU, on-screen Touch, stronger GPU performance for graphics and gaming, a new lighter design and up to 2x faster storage.
How much faster is it than the last generation?
The M5 Pro and M5 Max are the same chips Apple introduced in the mini-LED MacBook Pro in March 2026, so the jump over that model comes from the display, not the chip. Against the previous M4 generation, benchmarks show about 15% faster CPU and about 20% faster GPU performance, and Apple claims up to 30% faster multithreaded performance. Storage is up to 2x faster, reaching 14.5GB/s. The biggest gains are in AI work, thanks to a Neural Accelerator in each GPU core:
| Task (M5 Max) | vs M4 Max | vs M1 Max |
|---|---|---|
| AI: time to first token | 4.3x faster | 12x faster |
| AI: text-to-image generation | 3.7x faster | 8.1x faster |
| Render in DaVinci Resolve Studio | 2.9x faster | 5.3x faster |
| Render in Maxon Redshift | 1.4x faster | 5x faster |
Figures come from Apple's own testing of the 14-inch models. Apple uses the M1 Max as its baseline, so the M4 Max column divides Apple's M5 Max result by its M4 Max result.
Is the MacBook Pro PROLED XDR worth the price?
It's worth it if your work depends on the screen: video, photo, colour-critical design or on-screen touch workflows. For writing, browsing and office work, the extra ₹50,000 over the mini-LED model buys features you won't use. Apple's performance figures come from its own pre-production testing, so wait for independent benchmarks if you can.
- Under ₹4 lakh: The 14-inch M5 Pro base is the sensible entry point.
- Around ₹5.5 lakh: The 32-core GPU M5 Max suits heavy creative work.
- ₹6.2 to 6.7 lakh: The 40-core GPU with 48GB suits 3D rendering, 8K video and large local AI models.
How can you pay less?
- Compare offers. On the base 14-inch, education pricing saves ₹18,000, which beats ₹15,000 cashback. Pick whichever is bigger.
- Skip unneeded upgrades. Memory can't be upgraded later, but the 2TB and 48GB tiers cost a lot more.
- Decide on AppleCare+ early. It extends coverage to three years, with fees of ₹8,900 for screen damage or ₹25,900 for other accidental damage.
- Ask your card issuer. The final EMI amounts come from your bank, not Apple.
