Cost of second hand laptop – What is the true price of a refurbished laptop ?

The price variation of a couple of thousand rupees you see between different vendors is due to many factors.

  1. Purchase price: No vendor is actually making the laptops in their house. Laptops are bought from corporates/companies after the end of their lease period. They are then sold to end users after refurbishing. So the purchase price is the single biggest factor

  2. Refurbishment: The cost involved in refurbishing the product. The quality of the laptop, RAM/ SSD/ battery / parts replaced and paint on it determines the pricing.
  3. Warranty: Selling a laptop and honouring the warranty on it is 2 different things. If you want the cheapest laptop buy from peer to peer selling platforms like Olx. However, there is no recourse in it, if anything is faulty. Different sellers have different overheads and different cost structure, thus the variation in prices between refurbishers.
  4. Efficiency: If a vendor is holding too much inventory and is not efficient with its cost structure then the laptop pricing increases.

  1. We work on the JIT model: Just in Time. Rather than holding too much inventory on our books and then not being able to pass on the benefit of reduction in prices or even worse – becoming inefficient or the inventory becoming obsolete. We partner with many resellers who hold the inventory with themselves. When the requirement arises we tap them, refurbished the laptop, get the QC done in house and send you the best ever refurbished laptop.
  2. Organic Reach: All we do is organic reach, no paid advertisements on Meta or Google shopping advertisement. The calculation is clear, the cost of the laptop + nominal margin = your costing. No bloated overheads.
  3. Invest in training: We take technical aspects very seriously. Each member of our team at EazyPC is trained to only ship the laptop only after he has the confidence that the technician will himself be happy to buy this quality of laptop. This reduces warranty cost.
  4. Reduced RTO: We only ship to customers who have paid a token advance for the laptop. Before shipping, we share the photo and video of the laptop. Address their query if any and then ship it. This reduces RTO and losses for us. It enables us to sell at lower prices confidently.
  5. Reduce Overheads: We do not claim to have anything fancy in the office or in the process. We provide legitimate resolution of problems and want to make the laptops accessible to all. No fancy studio, nor any unnecessary solutions for problems that don’t exist in laptops.

Clean working laptops with good battery backup. That is out promise and we honour it.
